Choco is a Cock-a-poo (a cross between a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle). To me, he looks like a little Wookie. He survived being run over last year by the jerk who used to live next door to me. Choco's hips were broken in three places and after a trip to the animal ER (thanks to my friend, Dennis) I nursed him back to health and he now has a slight limp, but gets around pretty well. And he's now sporting a distinguished-looking grey streak in his beard.
Lucy must be either a Shoxer or a Bar-pei by my calculations, as she is apparently a mix between a Boxer and a Sharpei. She has a condition, referred to as "cherry eye", which is common among two breeds, Cocker Spaniels and Sharpeis. The vet told me that it is not painful, it just looks unsightly. He forgot to mention that it scares the living daylights out of most people, especially those who don't have any canine friends, who seem to think that it must be a highly-contagious canine leprosy thingy. If people look past her eye problem, they see that Lucy is a beautiful dog. She has a boxer's build, a head shaped like a Weimeraner's head and a softened version of a Sharpei's wrinkles.
When the weather is nice, we go to the park. And I feel sorry for the people without canine kids.
