Cecil Alexander's 90th Birthday Celebration
Page 1
Cecil Alexander is a Renaissance Man. Born and bred in Atlanta, he was a decorated Marine pilot in World War II. A graduate of Yale and Harvard, he became a prominent architect, who co-founded the firm FABRAP. He designed the Georgia Flag, which replaced the Confederate Battle Flag above the state capitol. He and his lovely wife, Helen, were pioneers in the civil rights movement and have worked for decades to make Atlanta a better place to live. He is an artist, an inventor and a gentleman, with a wicked sense of humor. I was honored to be invited to photograph his 90th birthday celebration.
